Article 1 - Newswriting & Reporting

This is a mock article. In class, two organizations were announced and we had to write up a "report" about the students announcing the organizations. It's a bit sub-par, but what do you expect when you get a surprise article assignment?

1/28/2009

Two opportunities for Springfield College – Benedictine University students with mass communications majors were announced today in Doc Ellertsen’s news writing and reporting class.
The first opportunity announced was by Pete Davis, former reporter for the Herald and Review, about the biweekly campus newspaper “The Bulldog.” Pete, a very persistent individual, announces the opportunity for people to write for the Bulldog in the communications classes he is taking to recruit people to give the paper a variety of reporters and staff writers. He can be found in his office after his classes to discuss with students on a personal basis about writing for the paper. Amie Suter, writer of the opinion section of the paper, is also always looking for more opinions to write about and people to write with.
Katie Davis was the next to speak up in class about her and Amie’s newest student organization dedicated to public relations. Their PR club will start meeting tonight at 5:15PM, and they are planning a trip in March to a PR convention and dinner, in which they and the members of the organization are planning on attending.

[EDIT] Grade: 89
